Things To Know Before You Start Running ARO Node​

Here are key points to understand before running an Edge Node on the ARO Network:

  • ARO is a permissionless network, which means no prior approval or special qualifications are required to participate.
  • By running an ARO node, you can contribute your residential resources — such as your residential IP address, bandwidth, and hardware capacity — to power both the overall agents network and your own agents.
  • You earn rewards for running an ARO node and contributing your idle resources (token incentives during the mainnet phase, or Jade points during the testnet phase).
  • You are free to exit the network and claim your rewards at any time.
  • Edge Nodes primarily make use of your idle resources to support the ARO Network, with minimal impact on your everyday internet experience. The choice is always yours.
  • We offer several node types to suit different needs: ARO Desktop, ARO Mobile, ARO Pod, and ARO Server. Refer to the next section for guidance on selecting the best option for you.
  • ARO Lite is a super-lightweight Chrome extension node. ARO Lite is no longer actively provided (we recommend using ARO Desktop on macOS, Windows, or Linux instead). Running ARO Lite can continue earning Jade rewards during Testnet S2, but the reward allocation will gradually decrease over time and eventually reach zero.

ARO Pod

  • Dedicated plug-and-play device
  • Optimized for high uptime and rewards
  • For residential bandwidth / < 100 Mbps upstream bandwidth

ARO Server

  • A professional software image for servers or workstations
  • Suitable for pro-level users with advanced deployment needs
  • Supports flexible deployment in bare-metal or VM environments
